With the construction project for the company Mertl, Unger took over an innovative project in the field of renewable energy as general contractor. The tailor-made multifunctional hall for the steel warehousing and processing of stainless steel tubes in Rannersdorf near Schwechat meets all technical requirements of modern and efficient management. At the same time, the client thought of the future with the installation of a photovoltaic system. The proposed photovoltaic generator measures approximately 800 m² and has a capacity of 110 kWp – this is one of the largest privately owned photovoltaic systems in Lower and Upper Austria.
On an area of approximately 3000 m², the hall was in the proportions of 26 x 49m and 27 x 57m for storage of steel pipes including installation of a fully automated high bay warehouse was built and equipped. The installation of high bay warehouse, the installation of four overhead cranes and the subsequent installation of the photovoltaic system were regarded as challenges of this construction project. Four smaller additions for a lounge, a master cabin, a small-parts storage and a utility room to create additional jobs. In total about 300 tons of steel were realized. With this project Unger demonstrated again its competence for sustainable and ready-to-use solutions.
