The Road to the Top
Founded as a locksmith’s workshop in 1952, the Unger Steel Group has grown into a leading international provider of complete construction solutions. Over this time, more than 10,000 projects have been successfully delivered in over 40 countries.
1952
1952Establishment of the locksmith’s workshop in Welgersdorf by Josef Unger Sr.
1986
1986Takeover of the company by Josef Unger Jr., relocation to Oberwart, and development into an internationally operating enterprise.
2007
2007Commissioning of Steel Production Facility II in Sharjah (UAE)
2008
2008Entry of Matthias Unger – 3rd generation – into the company
2012
2012Production expansion in Oberwart
2018
2018Expansion and modernization of the office at the company headquarters in Oberwart
2021
2021Acquisition of Steel Production Facility III near Leipzig and the founding of Unger Stahlbau Brehna.
